My first guest on the Tami Jackson Show* tonight will be Casey Mattox.

Casey Mattox, Esq., serves as senior counsel and the director of the Center for Academic Freedom with Alliance Defending Freedom.

When Mattox first joined ADF in 2009, he participated in litigation and later focused on working with allied attorneys to litigate cases to protect the rights of Christian students, faculty, and staff at public colleges and universities across the nation.

In 2011, Mattox was eager to put an end to the evil of abortion and joined the Center for Life. As senior counsel, he has been active in defending the sanctity of life and holding the abortion industry accountable for its fraudulent use of taxpayer dollars.

He is also active in defending the freedom of conscience of healthcare workers.

Mattox earned his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 2001. He is a member of the bar in Virginia, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 7th, 9th, and D.C. Circuits, and the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, the Northern District of Florida, and the Eastern District of Michigan.

Casey and I will discuss Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ address at Georgetown University Law School on the state of free speech on American college campuses and the case of a Christian student who was banned from discussing his Christian views on campus because his “open-air speaking” had disturbed the peace and was not in free-speech zones.

Casey Mattox represented the student and notes that free speech has come under attack in favor of safe spaces and political correctness.

Mattox makes these points:

  • Free speech is becoming stifled on college campuses, and viewpoint diversity is no longer valued as the cornerstone of American higher education.
  • College campuses across the country have shown a dangerous trend of promoting liberal-leaning messaging and stifling conservative messaging instead of allowing college campuses to be what they were intended to be – an open forum for debate.
  • Limiting free speech to simply pre-approved messaging is unconstitutional and does a disservice to America’s college students by not challenging them to consider viewpoints other than their own.

Casey and the Center for Academic Freedom have been on the front lines of standing up for free speech on college campuses and fighting back against university policies that seek to silence unpopular opinions.

Recently Casey led a legal fight on behalf of students at Macomb Community College in Michigan where the university tried to ban them from talking to fellow classmates about the benefits of fossil fuels.

CAF also defended the rights of another student group which was arrested for handing out copies of the U.S. Constitution in non “free speech zones.” Casey wrote an OpEd calling on Education Secretary DeVos to clarify universities’ responsibility to protect free speech.

Don’t miss this impactful and timely discussion with a legal eagle on the frontlines!

My second guest tonight will be pundit, Autry Pruitt.

Autry J. Pruitt is a writer, radio host, political advocate, and thought leader who believes in limited government and free market.

Autry is a Black-American from the Mid-West who believes that the Democratic Party has sold out African-Americans. His political life is dedicated to fostering a relationship between traditional and non-traditional conservatives and removing the Democratic Party’s stranglehold on the African-American vote.

Always alert to dangers of the collective, Autry was introduced at a young age to politics through C-Span and Insight Magazine. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Americans for Fair Taxation, and his articles have been published in Forbes, American Spectator, The Hill, Townhall, and Breitbart.

Autry was the featured new-media broadcaster for three years at the “Shot Show” in Las Vegas.

Pruitt is also the author of the 2016 book Planes, Steak & Water: Defending Donald J. Trump.

Autry and I will talk about the latest tax reform news and why a Republican Congress seems to be obstructing President Trump’s agenda, especially on tax reform and Obamacare, both of which affect all of our pocket books, as well as what is good and bad in the tax reform rollout.

If you’re like me, you want tax reform and a repeal of Obamacare and the sooner the better!

You won’t want to miss this conversation with Autry — a terrific guest who knows this subject cold!
