Robert Cardoza from “Robert Cardoza LIVE” joined us to discuss the latest progress on the GOP’s Obamacare Lite along with Senator Rand Paul’s bill, “The Obamacare Replacement Act” (S.222) which is just 4 pages long and a very easy read compared to the tedious bills filled with lawyer jargon and government speak. The GOP’s version is currently 123 pages compared to Obama’s monstrosity of over 900 pages but is just a watered down version of Obamacare without borders. Bob explained how the funding of this legislation is a pipe dream based primarily on wishful thinking while kicking the actual phasing out of Medicaid expansion 8 years down the road, when most in Congressional leadership will have moved on to lobbyist positions in private sector. Paul’s bill on the other hand illustrates how legislation can be repealed entirely and offers a much cleaner and better idea of how to return healthcare to the private sector free market, using tax exemptions and deductions on employer plans and individuals respectively. It reinstates purchasing for those with preexisting condition through insurance clubs (HIPAA) like AARP to offset high risk, removes government mandates on plans and premiums and offers a 2 year open-enrollment for those with preexisting conditions.
