Readily Random

Are YOU Ready to Live Larger than Life? Hello, and Welcome to the Home of The Readily Random Podcast. Let me take a minute or two and introduce myself as well as this AWESOME new show! My name is Larry Roberts and I’ve been in the podcast space now for several years as both a content creator as well as a consultant. I have coached clients throughout each phase of new show launches within a number of iTunes categories. Additionally, I am a professionally trained voice over artist which, ironically enough lead me to Podcasting. I wanted to continue giving back to the exciting industry that I love so much and I’ve been itching for a new show, so The Readily Random Podcast was born! Now, this isn’t a new concept for me considering I had a blog back in the MySpace days with the same name. But this time, instead of writing my thoughts, I’ll be inviting guests to come on and share THEIR stories. What’s that? I hear you, that sounds great and all, but what does that have to do with being Readily Random? It all comes together when we meet right here, on iTunes or your preferred listening app every Monday morning. Each week I will release a brand new 30-45 minute episode featuring a “RANDOM”, selection of interesting and insightful interviews with Motivators, Entrepreneurs, Survivors, Athletes, Podcasters, Bloggers and you never can tell who else may join us! The goal is to "READILY" remind each listener through stories of success, recovery, and inspiration that you too can live LARGER THAN LIFE! Thank you for taking a few minutes to stop by and I look forward to talking to you again every Monday morning. Meanwhile, take a minute and subscribe to the show on iTunes and even give us a rating or review after you've heard an episode or two!

Jamie Gravy is a comedian that has blown up on the local Dallas/Ft. Worth comedy scene and he's already starting to make waves on the National stage.

But, it hasn't always been smiles and chuckles for Jamie.  He takes us on the journey that lead him to eventually spending time in jail before he spent time on that stage.

We round out the conversation with Jamie introducing us to his partner in comedy and tells us about Chocnilla with the message of United We Joke!!

Every year 5% of all breast cancer diagnosis' occur in women under the age of forty.  They do not have the time to be sick, stop their lives or even take the time to care for themselves.

Jenn was stunned when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had no resources her own age-and she really had a very difficult time processing all of the information that she was being bombarded with.  She read books-lots of books, but most of them were written by women well into their 50's or older. Most had grown children and were either retired, or at a point where they were ready to slow down their careers. Many stated that getting cancer was a gift. Huh?

Jenn couldn't identify.  She had little kids, and a career that was just starting to gain some momentum. And getting cancer sucks. Jenn knew she couldn't be the only person out there that felt this way.  She knew there had to be someone, somewhere who was struggling with these same issues...

Twila Atwell is a young lady with an amazing story and is wise beyond her years because of it.

It all started with a softball injury and subsequent pain pills to assist with the recovery process.  The issue is, that it went beyond that...way beyond that.  Before it was all over, Twila was running from police behind the wheel of a stolen police car!  This landed Twila in prison for 3 years at the very young age of 24.

While in prison, Twila not only got clean, she also developed a passion for helping others get clean as well.  She established a movement, which is rapidly growing into something much more.  Her movement is branded as Everyone Fight Drug Addiction Today, or E.F.D.A.T. for short.

His work combines aspects of the Western school of mathematical origami design with the Eastern emphasis upon line and form to produce models that are at once distinctive, elegant, and challenging to fold.

His work has been seen across the globe from New York to Paris and even to the home of Origami, Japan.

Stephen Kavalkovich is a man who has been given the gift of many experiences throughout his life...

"For most of my adult life, I was a 911 Paramedic. I also had the honor of serving as a rescue worker at the World Trade Center on 9-11-01 in NYC.

I have seen tragedy and suffering first hand for many years. Little was I aware that I was the one who needed the saving. Through seeking peace within by using all things external, I wound up desperate, broken and destroyed in every way.

I am now grateful to be a man in long term recovery from substance abuse and destitution. My goal is simple, to use my experience to connect and give you a voice."

Born in Memphis, Tennessee, and raised in Blytheville, Arkansas, Marty has a true love and passion for the south. Being from a family of musicians, preachers, singers, and songwriters, it was definitely in his blood from birth.

He started writing songs when he was twelve years old and from the first song he knew that songwriting was his destiny -- whether he got paid for it or not. “I won’t allow anyone to put me in a box creatively, especially a record label.” Growing up with Gospel, R&B, Country, and Blues as his musical guidance, he has been blessed with a unique style of singing and songwriting that stretches the boundaries of cultures.

Adam Boyer is an actor and writer and somewhat of a model.  Ok, he says the model part wasn't all that successful.  But, he's been a high level athlete, playing soccer at the International level and can be seen in a number of character roles dating back to 1998.

Adam's latest role is in the new Netflix series, Ozark.  Here you'll find him playing a character that seems to be the complete opposite of the guy I had the pleasure of talking to.

David Ghantt (@DavidGhantt) is a man that still holds the record for the second largest bank heist on American Soil. As a vault supervisor for Loomis Fargo, David had access to the vaults and all the cash within.  And, with the help of several others David made off with $17.3 million dollars, 11 million of which was in 20’s. It was quite literally “a ton” of cash. The heist was recently seen as a comedy starring  Zach Galifianakis as David.  The film also featured Kristen Wig, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis.

After being captured by the FBI roughly 9 months later, he served 7.5 years in Federal Prison and continues to pay restitution to this day. David estimates it will take him around 700 years to pay everything back that he owes.

Today, David operates heavy machinery for a living, or as he calls it, playing with Tonka toys for grown ups. He enjoys his photography and David is always ready to go and catch a big one in one of the many water resources he has to choose from in Florida.

The Pit was started in 1985 in Woodland Hills Ca. by John Hackleman. John started The Pit because he wanted people to learn a no nonsense martial art and conditioning program. Some of the world's best fighters have trained at The Pit. John never lets the lack of money come between you and Kempo. All he asks is that you give Kempo and The Pit the respect, and loyalty it gives you. Confidence, loyalty, and humility are what he expects from all Pit Monsters.

John now operates The Pit in Arroyo Grande, CA. and Henderson, NV. John, along with other instructors, teach beginners to advanced Martial artists. He stresses mental and physical conditioning, power, and discipline. His classes are upbeat and fun, yet very tough. He combines his 25 years of Karate/Kickboxing experience to teach a blend of simple, yet effective fighting and training techniques.
