VIDEO-David Perrodin, PhD, is not on Facebook and laughs when his friends say, “I couldn’t find you on social media – what’s up with that?” Well, that’s the point. One is not obligated to participate in social media. It is optional. Each of us has a choice. That point is lost in the Yahoo article and its supporting research as Dr. Perrodin argues that every person has a choice to be captive to social media and unplugging from social media, ironically, isn’t even hinted as an option in the article. Enjoy this entertaining and thoughtful extended version show in which David shares many of his personal anecdotes while validating or challenging the themes of this article which portrays social media as the illness that infects all and it’s merely just learning to live with the symptoms versus seeking the cure.
