Donald Trump’s Speech before Congress last night, by almost every measure was a success, from the record number of Tweets (3 million) to his demeanor, content and tone, to his accomplishments thus far in spite of a Congress that still remains stagnant even though the GOP has the majority they kept telling us they need. Even the media elites for the most part commended his conciliatory tone. But not everything Trump spoke about fell within the context of conservative principles especially his stance on the repeal of Obamacare. We noted several important moments, the first being the highlights of his speech where he honored fallen Senior Chief William Ryan and his remark about “draining the swamp” which drew very notable and predictable reactions from Establishment elites. Using a transcript from the speech we listed Trump’s accomplishments thus far, noting not a single one has been assisted by any acts of Congress. Trump’s negotiating with companies to create jobs, his Executive Orders to secure our border, rebuild our military and support law enforcement are of particular note. On the other hand his plan to “repeal and replace” Obamacare is anything close to what the people elected him to do, looking more like a rehash of Obamacare.
