Joining me in the first 1/2 hour will be New York gubernatorial candidate, Rob Astorino.

astorino.jpgWestchester County Executive Rob Astorino is the candidate for the Republican AND Conservative parties.

Astorino is currently serving a second term as County Executive after being re-elected by a 13-point margin in a county with a 2-1 Democratic enrollment advantage. Republicans comprise just 24% of voters in Westchester.

A fluent Spanish-speaker, Astorino got reelected in 2013 with a majority of the Hispanic vote and and he has built strong relationships in the African-American community.

And one more twist…as talkradio200 (Jack from Manhattan) writes at

Astorino hailing from Westchester County may be an omen. Many forget, but Cuomo’s father Mario was defeated for a 4th term as governor in 1994 by a state senator from Westchester County named George Pataki.

Before taking office as County Executive, Mr. Astorino had a successful career in the radio industry.

He was station manager and program director of The Catholic Channel on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio and hosted a weekly radio show from St. Patrick’s Cathedral with the archbishop of New York. In 2001, he helped launch ESPN Radio in New York and became the station’s senior producer.

The County Executive earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications at Fordham University, where he also minored in Spanish and Political Science. In 2001, he studied in Barcelona, Spain, and received a Spanish Immersion Diploma from the Enforex School of International Studies.

He is a lifelong resident of Westchester, where he and his wife, Sheila, are raising three
young children.

My guest for the second 1/2 hour will be US Congressional candidate, Ryan Zinke.

RyanZinkeRyan Zinke is a third generation Montanan, and attended the University of Oregon on an athletic scholarship.

Ryan’s distinguished military career began in 1985 when he graduated from Officer Candidate School and attended SEAL training (class 136).

He was then assigned to SEAL Team ONE in Coronado, CA where he led counter-insurgency and contingency operations in the Persian Gulf and the Pacific theater of operations.

From 1990-93 and again from 1996-99, he was selected to SEAL Team SIX where he was a Team Leader, Ground Force Commander, Task Force Commander and Current Operations Officer in support of National Command Authority missions.

He then served as the Special Operations Officer in Europe and led the first exercise between former Soviet Special Forces and NSW forces, and served as the SEAL Commander of Joint Task Force TWO in support of Special Operations missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and Kosovo.

Zinke had many other missions, assignments, and commendations, and retired from active duty in 2008 after serving 23 years as a US Navy SEAL.

He is married to the former Lolita Hand and has two boys, Wolfgang and Konrad, and a daughter Jennifer, who is a US Navy Diver and is also married to a Navy SEAL.

And now Ryan seeks to continue fulfilling the oath to protect and defend the U.S. (and Montana) Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic by serving in the U.S. House of Representatives.
